Upcoming Ballet Show

It all began in Corrib Dance Academy in September when my ballet teacher told us that we were going to have a ballet show at Christmas.
The first half of the show is going to be fairy tales and the second half is going to be French ladies.
I’m in 3rd grade in ballet and 4th grade in modern dance.
I’m going to be doing all 6 shows now that I’m in 3rd grade.
I am the evil sea in ballet and a French lady in modern.
Rachel Quirke is also doing the ballet show. Rachel is the Good Sea in ballet and a Girly girl in modern dance.
My ballet teachers name is Trisha and she is a great ballet teacher.
She pushes us to do the very best we can do.
I love my dance!! I would say it is really going to be a fantastic show.
I’ll let you all know how the show goes.

Movie Review By Lauren Roberts

FRED: THE MOVIE

FRED Figglehorn started of as a guy with a high pitched voice on YouTube. He became a YouTube phenomenon, known all around the world. In his videos FRED (played by Lucas Cruishank) has to deal with an evil bully KEVIN (played by Jake Weary)!  FRED: the movie is basically a movie of his videos. When Fred Figglehorn tries to invite next door neighbour Judy (played by Pixie Lott) over to sing, he discovers that his crush Judy has moved so he goes on a quest to “save her” He is heartbroken to find that she is having a party at her new house and didn’t invite FRED! Heart broken FRED plans an imaginary party with the help of his best friend Bertha (played by Jennet McCurdy). In the end it all works out.
WARNING: FRED is definitely not for the faint hearted as there is a lot of screaming!!!
FRED is for aged 12!

A Day to Remember

On the 17th of March, St. Patrick’s Day 2011, Clarinbridge took to the field in Croke Park against the Killkenny and Leinster champions O’Loughlain Gaels.  When the forty minute mark came O’Loughlain Gaels looked as if they were going to win.  Their fantastic centre forward scored the first 6 scores, but when the second half started Clarinbridge started their comeback and were on their way to victory, thanks to Micháel’s magic words at half time.  Clarinbridge started scoring from every position and eventually won the match 2-18 to 12pts. They were crowned the club hurling champions of Ireland for 2011.  The team and their captain climbed the steps of the Hogan Stand to receive the Tommy Moore, All-Ireland Cup.  The captain Paul Callalan made a great speech the supports from Clarinbridge raised the roof of the Hogan stand with a raucous roar.  The two Kerins brothers also had their turn in the spotlight, Mark with man of the match and Alan setting the record for the first person to win both the club Gaelic football championship with Salthill and the hurling with Clarinbridge.  That night there were great celebrations in the village and the parish was set a light with bomb fires in every town-land.

Science and Technology Fair

On Wednesday the 30th March our school hosted a Science and Technology evening.  Each classroom performed a number of experiments and activities ranging from testing magnets, dissecting hearts to computer programming.  Mr John Joyce from the Marine Institute visited our school and gave a talk to the parents.  The evening was finished by the choir singing the ‘Peace Proms’ songs.

Sport
Sport is one of Ireland’s greatest pastimes. Irish sporting has great organistations such as: The GAA, FAI and the  IRFU
My favourite pastime would be hurling a part of the GAA, the fastest field game in the World and the most skillful game in the World.

Currency
The currency in Ireland is the Euro which as you can probably guess that this currency is used through out Europe, and you’d be right. Yes this currency is through iut Europe but Ireland has used it from the year 2001. The Irish are in a Reccesion which means we’re a bit short on money, I know what you’re thinking Ya sure a bit. Election Posters

By Elaine Kennedy

Is there any need for them?

For

I think it is a good idea to have posters and signs
up all over the country because they remind you
to go and vote and not forget. They give  you a
chance to see what the person you are voting for
looks like and younger people get a chance to learn
who is in what party while in the car.

Against

It is a bad idea to have posters up everywhere
because they are a waste of paper. Some
people don't like to look at them while they
are driving and they are a distraction to
people who are trying to concentrate on the road.
