Carol singing in the Eyre Square Centre

By Oisin and Marcus

Our carol singing took place on Thursday the 16th of  December . This year our carol singing event raised funds for the Medical Research facility in Crumlin Children's Hospital .Research into childhood illnesses and especically, childhood cancer, is very important. This was a great opportunity for us children to help other children. Pupils from sixth and some from fifth class went on a bus to the Eyre Square shopping centre and we sang our hearts out for three hours. Other children collected money in buckets with some willing adult volunteers. We got a great chance to do our christmas shopping also!To top of the day we all went to Burger King and it was delicious.
We would like to thank everyone who helped out on the day, the teachers, school staff and the parents who helped out. A special thank you to everyone who kindly donated.
In the end we raised about E1,800
Well done to the staff and pupils of fifth and sixth class.
